How to Add Proxy to Omnifox
Step-by-step guide to adding Massive residential proxies to Omnifox: per-tab proxies, exit-matched timezones, domain labels and new-tab proxy modes.
Learn how to add Massive residential proxies to Omnifox, the multi-session anti-fingerprinting browser, so that every tab carries its own exit IP, timezone and identity.
What is Omnifox?
Omnifox is a multi-session anti-fingerprinting browser built on Firefox. Every tab runs in its own container with its own cookies, storage, service workers, saved logins and cache, and every tab can carry its own proxy, timezone, locale and device identity with separate fingerprints from the others. Because the proxy and the surfaces that would otherwise contradict it travel together per tab, a single window can hold dozens of independent sessions without them leaking into one another.
Key Features
- Per-tab proxies over HTTP, HTTPS, SOCKS4 and SOCKS5, with username and password authentication
- Exit-country timezone and matching locale derived from the proxy's real exit, with each spoofed surface switchable on its own
- Per-tab identity and fingerprint, plus Android, iOS and iPadOS personas with device orientation and matching fingerprints
- Native profiles with built-in autofill and encrypted export and import
- Omni View: drive hundreds of tabs from one, with mouse, scroll and typing mirrored across selected tabs
- Quick Launch: open many tabs of one site at once
- Ingest: email and SMS verification codes delivered into the browser and filled into the page that asked for them
- Firefox extension installs and sideloading
- macOS on Apple silicon and Intel, Windows on x86-64 and ARM64
Step 1: Install Omnifox
- Create an Omnifox account and pick a plan on the pricing page
- Download the macOS or Windows installer from your account's downloads page
- Launch Omnifox and sign in at about:omnilogin with your account email and password
Step 2: Get Your Massive Proxy Credentials
Massive supplies the residential exits that make each Omnifox tab look like an ordinary visitor, with 100% ethically sourced IPs from diverse global locations. Massive residential proxies offer:
- 99.84% success rate
- Response times under 0.8s
- Coverage across 195+ locations worldwide
Massive Proxy Setup Steps
- Visit joinmassive.com and sign up for a plan.
- After signing up, go to the Proxy Auth tab in your dashboard to retrieve your proxy credentials (username and API key).
- For detailed configuration options, refer to the Massive documentation
Massive exposes one endpoint per protocol. Pick the one that matches the protocol you will select in Omnifox:
- HTTP:
network.joinmassive.com:65534 - HTTPS:
network.joinmassive.com:65535 - SOCKS5:
network.joinmassive.com:65533
Step 3: Add Massive Proxies to Omnifox
- Open Settings and choose Proxies in the sidebar, or go straight to about:preferences#proxies.
- In the Add proxies box, paste one proxy per line. Omnifox accepts host:port, host:port:user:pass, or name:host:port:user:pass. The optional leading name is what appears in the NAME column of the proxy list, so it is worth setting once you run more than one exit.
- Set Default protocol to match the endpoint you pasted, then click Add proxies.
For example, to add Massive over HTTP with a name you will recognise later:
massive-http:network.joinmassive.com:65534:USERNAME:API_KEY
Replace USERNAME and API_KEY with the credentials from your Massive dashboard, and leave Default protocol set to http.
Default protocol applies to everything in that paste, so if you also want a SOCKS5 exit, add it in a second pass with the protocol switched to socks5:
massive-socks:network.joinmassive.com:65533:USERNAME:API_KEY
Added proxies appear in the Proxy list below, with columns for NAME, HOST, USER, PASSWORD, NOTE, LABEL and EXIT (TIMEZONE). The list has its own search box plus Import, Export, Clear shown and Clear all controls, so a large pool stays manageable and can be moved between machines.
Step 4: Assign a Proxy to a Tab
Proxies are attached per tab from the System panel in the toolbar.
- Open the tab you want to route, then click System in the top bar.
- Under THIS TAB'S PROXY, pick the Massive proxy you added.
- Leave Reload tab after switching on, so the page reloads through the new exit instead of holding the old connection.
- Click Apply to this tab.
Manage proxies… in the same panel takes you back to about:preferences#proxies if you need to add another exit without leaving the tab.
Step 5: Choose a New-Tab Proxy Mode
The same panel decides what happens to tabs you open from now on, under NEW-TAB PROXY MODE:
- Random Proxy Per Tab: each new tab draws a random proxy from your list. This is the mode that suits a Massive residential pool, since it spreads sessions across exits without you assigning each one.
- Proxy in Order: new tabs walk the list from top to bottom, which helps when you need a predictable, repeatable mapping of tab to exit.
- System Connection: new tabs use your machine's own connection.
- Direct Connection: new tabs bypass proxies entirely.
Two toggles refine it. Skip proxies in a profile if some exists leaves a saved profile's own proxy in place instead of overriding it. Use default proxies when a domain label has none falls back to your unlabelled proxies when a site matches no label.
Step 6: Scope Proxies to Domains with Labels
Labels tie a proxy to the sites it should serve. In Settings → Proxies, under Language & labels, Omnifox states the rule plainly: a tab opened to a label's domain routes through one of that label's proxies, while unlabelled proxies serve all other sites.
- Click New label and give it a name and the domains it covers.
- Assign proxies to that label from the LABEL column of the proxy list.
- Decide whether unlabelled proxies should cover everything else, using the Use default proxies when a domain label has none toggle.
This is what lets one Massive subscription serve several workflows at once, with one label's exits for marketplace work and another's for ad verification, without reassigning proxies tab by tab.
Timezone and Language Matching
An exit IP in one country paired with a timezone and Accept-Language header from another is one of the easier ways to be spotted. Omnifox closes that gap itself: attach a proxy to a tab and the timezone, the reported locale and the Accept-Language header all change to match the exit country.
The Language dropdown under Language & labels controls it. Left on Auto (match the proxy's exit country), each isolated tab presents the language of its own proxy's exit. Picking a specific language instead pins that one across all tabs, which is what you want when the interface language has to stay consistent no matter where each session exits.
Verifying Your Proxy
After applying a proxy to a tab, confirm it end to end before relying on it:
- Open an IP-checking site in that tab and confirm the address and country match the Massive exit you expected.
- Check that the reported timezone follows the exit country rather than your own.
- Open a second tab on a different proxy and confirm the two report different addresses. That is the proof per-tab isolation is doing its job.
